Tests & Results.

How to get your test results from St Johns House Medical Centre.

The type of test you’re having can change how you can view your results.

We offer an online service that makes it easier for you to obtain your results. You can view test results via the NHS app or via Patient Access.

If you’re having trouble finding your results on the NHS app, you can contact the surgery via phone.

Information

Most test results, including blood and urine, take between 3 - 7 working days to come back to the practice from the hospital laboratory. Some X-rays and other scans can take 2 - 3 weeks to be processed.

Occasionally a doctor may suggest that you make an appointment to receive your test results or they may need to talk to you directly. The receptionist will advise you if this is necessary.

You will only be given test results once a clinician has seen it and commented on it.

How to get your results.

When you attend for a test of any kind, you’ll be told how long you should expect to wait for the results. Please bear this in mind, and only call the surgery when sufficient time has elapsed.

Our reception staff are not qualified to comment on results, so you should make any necessary follow-up appointments with a doctor or other relevant member of our clinical team.

We have a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection, and so we will only give out results to the person they relate to, unless that person has given prior permission for their release or if they are not capable of understanding them.

Please note, is it your responsibility to check your results and make any necessary follow-up appointments based on your GP’s advice.

By Phone

Please call the Test Results line on 01905 421688 to find out your results by phone, once the appropriate time has elapsed. You’ll be told how long you should expect this to be at the time of your test.
